Kimberton...

Established in 1817 by Emnor Kimber, who established the French Creek Boarding School for Girls, and now is called Kimber Hall. Kimber was a leader in the anti-slavery movement. His home and school became a "station" on the Underground Railroad and many tunnels run beneath the building and its grounds where runaway slaves were hidden and transported to safety and freedom.

Visit the remains of Snyders's Mill, located on Rapp's Dam Road in Kimberton. The mill was built by Congress in 1777. The powder mill was partially destroyed by an explosion set by a British loyalist during the Revolutionary War.
