Yellow Springs...(Chester Springs)

This delightful 18th century bucolic village is located just a few miles down the road from Kimberton and Charlestown, just off Route 113. George Washington used this as the first Revolutionary hospital. The native Americans first discovered mineral waters and utilized them for medicinal purposes. In the 19th century guests came to partake of the springs' restorative mineral waters. Visitors nowadays can stroll the paths through the stately water gardens that surround the legendary spring houses.

Octagonal Schoolhouse

The Octagonal Schoolhouse built in the early 1800's, at Diamond Rock Road and Yellow Springs Road, this delightful reminder of the days of the one room schoolhouse tells a special story. Designed with a window in each of its eight sides, each grade level had its own area and light poured in from all angles.

Pickering Hunt

Yellow Springs is also known for its Equestrian events - join in the morning excitement of a Fox Hunt! Participate in a stirrup cup with the members of the hunt. Marvel at majestic horses, elegant riders, and Penn-Marydale Fox Hounds as they search for the elusive red fox (don't worry, nowadays it's another member with fox scent to lure the hounds!) Visit the home of Pickering Hunt with its great vistas and historic buildings. Learn about this sport that dates back to the Egyptian Pharaohs in 1500 BC and has evolved into modern day Fox Hunting.

The Yellow Springs Art Institute serves the artist in the community by conducting classes, holding exhibits and supporting residencies.

Enjoy the ambiance of this quaint country village!
